AI features are bring-your-own-key on every plan — connect your Anthropic key and you only pay Anthropic, with no markup. Paid plans also include a built-in AI quota so you don’t have to manage a key at all. Built-in usage is metered and capped per month, so there are never surprise charges.

Does Astryx replace N.I.N.A.?
No — Astryx orchestrates N.I.N.A. rather than replacing it. You plan targets, frame mosaics, and schedule goals in Astryx, which builds N.I.N.A. Advanced Sequencer sequences for your capture software to execute. Your imaging stack keeps running N.I.N.A.
Where are my image files stored?
Your light frames always stay on your own storage. The optional local agent ingests metadata and previews so the dashboard and image library work, but full-resolution subs never leave your machine unless you choose to upload them.
Do I need an Anthropic API key to use the AI features?
On the Free plan, yes — bring your own Anthropic key and you only pay Anthropic, with no markup. Paid plans also include a built-in, metered AI quota, so you don't have to manage a key at all. Built-in usage is capped per month, so there are never surprise charges.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free includes the full planning toolkit — Sky Planner, Mosaic Planner and Scheduler, the equipment, exposure and scope calculators, the image library, the PHD2 guiding analyzer, and the live observatory dashboard via the local agent — for a single rig and one observing site.
Can I run a remote or multi-site observatory?
Yes. The Observatory plan adds multi-site fleet view, team workspaces with roles and invitations, an audit log, and per-resource access grants for up to 10 members. Remote-hosting facilities running 100 to 1,000+ telescopes use the custom Observatory Network tier, priced per active telescope.
How does billing work?
Plans are billed monthly per workspace. You can start on Free with no card, and upgrade to Pro or Observatory when you need built-in AI or multi-user, multi-site features. The Observatory Network tier for large facilities is custom-quoted — contact sales.
Is there a plan for astronomy clubs with a shared telescope?
Yes — Scope Time lets club members reserve nights on a shared telescope from a calendar built on real dark windows, with quotas, weather releases, and time-boxed access. Club members join free through a link and don't count against seats. Club pricing is being finalized; pilot clubs currently run free.
